I heard Abigail Washburn's music for the first time last year on NPR Music site. She sings and plays the banjo and has a love of her own American past and the Chinese culture that she's adopted through her studies and travels. I thought I would post this TED video of her speaking, not only for those who might be interested in her music or these cultures, but for those who want to be inspired by someone who had a plan but wasn't afraid to let the flow of fate change it for her:
